Orange Regional Medical Center Receives Donation From Provident Bank Charitable Foundation

April 21, 2011

Middletown, NY- Orange Regional Medical Center Foundation recently received a generous $100,000 donation from The Provident Bank Charitable Foundation. The funds will go toward the Building for Excellence Capital campaign and will support the purchase of nursery beds in the new Orange Regional Medical Center's Rowley Family Birthing Center scheduled to open in Summer 2011.

"The Provident Bank Charitable Foundation is proud to support Orange Regional Medical Center by furnishing this new nursery for our community's newest members. By investing in the health of our community, we ensure a better quality of life for all residents in the Hudson Valley," said George Strayton, President and CEO of Provident Bank.

Orange Regional Medical Center launched its $21 million Building for Excellence Capital Campaign nearly two years ago to construct a new 600,000+ square foot hospital in the Town of Wallkill. Situated on 61 acres and located at 707 East Main Street in Middletown, NY, the new facility is conveniently located near Route 17 and I-84 interchange. It will be the first new freestanding hospital built in the State of New York in more than 20 years.

"We are delighted that The Provident Bank Charitable Foundation has chosen to partner with us in welcoming babies into the world," said Christine Maraia, Orange Regional Medical Center Foundation President. "Their continued support of health initiatives in the region illustrates their commitment to our community."

In summer 2011, all current services offered at Orange Regional Medical Center including the Rowley Family Birthing Center will relocate to our new hospital, currently under construction. This state-of-the-art, technologically advanced facility will feature 10 private labor and delivery rooms, 24 private postpartum mother-baby suites, as well as a planned 10-bed Level 2 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Our private postpartum rooms include private bathrooms and soothing showers, individual thermostats, scenic views, HDTVs and the convenience of sleeper chairs for partners.

The Provident Bank Charitable Foundation was established in connection with the stock holding company of Provident Bank, the largest independent full-service community bank in the lower Hudson Valley.

Orange Regional's Building for Excellence Capital Campaign continues through the end of 2011. Individuals, businesses or organizations interested in making a donation or pledge can do so online by visiting www.ormc.org.
