Orange Regional Supports Making Strides for Breast Cancer Walk

Middletown, NY On Sunday, October 17, 2010 more than 180 Orange Regional Medical Center employees and their families participated in the American Cancer Society's Making Strides for Breast Cancer Walk at Woodbury Commons Premium Outlets. Orange Regional Employees from various departments including representatives from the Ray W. Moody, M.D. Breast Center and Oncology Department raised more than $3,740 for the annual event.

The Ray W. Moody, M.D. Breast Center is located in the Orange Regional Medical Pavilion, at 75 Crystal Run Road in Middletown. Our clinicians are experts in their field and include Board-certified radiologists specializing in Women's Imaging as well as other specialized technologists and professionals.

Orange Regional Hosts "Look Good...Feel Better" Program

(Middletown, NY) Orange Regional Medical Center will host a free program of the American Cancer Society "Look Good… Feel Better" on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton Campus, 60 Prospect Avenue, Middletown in the Board Room. For patients that have begun or are about to begin a course of radiation or chemotherapy treatment, they have been advised by their physician that they may experience some temporary changes in appearance. While those side effects may be upsetting, they are almost always temporary.
At this program learn tips on skin-care, make-up application and wig and turban styling. When you leave this program, you will have learned how to Look Good… Feel Better!

Orange Regional Hosts Free Diabetes Seminar

(Middletown, NY) Orange Regional Medical Center will host "Diabetes…What's New 4 You" seminar on Saturday, November 6, 2010 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Orange Ulster BOCES, 53 Gibson Road, Emanuel Axelrod Education Center Building, Goshen. According to the American Diabetes Association, there are over 18 million people in the United State who have diabetes. While an estimated 13 million have been diagnosed with diabetes, 5.2 million people are unaware that they have the disease.
Topics will include "The Basics and What's New" with Dr. Elliott Friedman, Board- certified endocrinologist and medical director of The Stanley S. Dunkelman, M.D. Diabetes Treatment Center; "The Mouth Body Connection: Diabetes and Dentistry" with Thomas Littner, D.D.S., general dentist and attending physician at Orange Regional Medical Center and "Diabetes and Sleep" with Dr. Alan Schaffer, medical director of the Center for Sleep Medicine at Orange Regional Medical Center and Board-certified in sleep medicine, internal medicine, pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine.
