In addition to offering state-of-the-art, non-invasive and minimally invasive diagnostic technology, Orange Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce our Patient Navigation Program. Patient Navigation is a support service that provides a specially-trained nurse to guide you through your cancer care treatment. This is a complimentary service; there is no cost to you or your insurance company when you choose Orange Regional Medical Center as your breast cancer treatment provider. We understand that this is a difficult and stressful time in your life and we want you to know we are dedicated to supporting you and your family during your treatment and recovery.
This one-on-one service is provided to ensure your needs are met in a timely manner, your questions are answered and fears and anxiety are addressed with compassion. The program assists you in obtaining the care and information you need, such as:
- Providing health resources and support systems
- Facilitating interaction and communication with healthcare staff and providers
- Streamlining appointments and paperwork
- Identifying and accessing financial services, if necessary
- Decreasing fear and anxiety
- Identifying and utilizing appropriate social services
- Tracking interventions and outcomes
Our Breast Cancer Navigator, Michele Worden, is a registered nurse with more than 30 years experience and knows you need allies in the fight against cancer: she's a breast cancer survivor. She can be your knowledgeable and compassionate partner if you or a loved one have cancer. Michele will help you understand your treatment and recovery, while providing you and your family with educational resources, as well as locate support and additional services available through Orange Regional Medical Center and our community. Count on Michele's personal and clinical experience to help guide you through the wide range of services and treatments available at the nationally-accredited Ray W. Moody, M.D. Breast Center.
In addition to Orange Regional's employed patient navigator, we have a strong affiliation with the American Cancer Society who help to provide complementary patient navigators and free rides to and from cancer treatments for those in need.
