In addition to offering comprehensive cancer care services consisting of state-of-the-art, diagnostic technology; non-invasive and minimally invasive surgical services; radiation, chemotherapy and infusion services; support groups and education, we are pleased to provide you access to our Patient Navigation Program. Patient Navigation is a one-on-one support service that provides a specially-trained oncology nurse to guide you through your cancer care treatment. Patient Navigation services ensure your needs are met in a timely manner, your questions are answered, and fears and anxiety are addressed with compassion. This is a complimentary service; there is no cost to you or your insurance company when you choose Orange Regional as your cancer treatment provider.
The program assists patients in obtaining the care and information needed, such as:
- Providing health resources and support systems
- Facilitating interaction and communication with healthcare providers
- Streamlining appointments and paperworkIdentifying and accessing financial services, if necessary
- Decreasing fear and anxietyIdentifying and utilizing appropriate social services
- Tracking interventions and outcomes
Orange Regional’s Head & Neck Cancer Nurse Navigator is Jayne O’Malley, a registered nurse with specialized training in Oncology. For nearly 15 years, Jayne has dedicated her skills and expertise to cancer care. Her office is located at Orange Regional Medical Pavilion, 75 Crystal Run Road, Middletown, New York. Working with your physicians, Jayne will help you understand your treatment and recovery, while providing you and your family with educational resources, as well as locate support and additional services available through Orange Regional and our community. Additionally, take comfort in knowing that Jayne has dedicated her career to helping patients with cancer and will support you throughout your cancer experience.
Jayne will call you to get you started on your path toward wellness and will do everything she can to help you in your mission to fight your cancer.
In addition to Orange Regional's employed patient navigator, we have a strong affiliation with the American Cancer Society who help to provide complementary patient navigators and free rides to and from cancer treatments for those in need.
