Head and Neck Cancer
Survivorship, Support & Resources
Orange Regional is affiliated with Support for People with Oral and Head and Neck Cancer (SPOHNC) which is dedicated to raising awareness and meeting the needs of oral and head and neck cancer patients. This self-help nonprofit organization is involved in the development of programs of support. It can have an enormous positive impact on meeting the psychosocial needs of patients as well as preserving, restoring and promoting physical and emotional health.
Orange Regional offers and sponsors a SPOHNC support group that meets on the first Wednesday of every month in our Outpatient Conference Room, located just inside the Outpatient Entrance at Orange Regional Medical Center, 707 East Main Street, Middletown. For additional information on this support group please visit www.ormc.org/CommunityOutreach or call 1-888-321-6762.
Orange Regional is proud of its affiliation with the American Cancer Society (ACS) which partners with us to provide additional resources to cancer patients. For cancer patients going through treatment, the ACS sponsors the Ride to Recovery Program providing free rides to and from cancer treatments.
The ACS also supports our patient navigator services with additional volunteer navigators. Their role is to listen and address the patient’s and caregiver’s non-medical needs such as transportation and financial assistance, among others. They work hard to identify and provide available resources to meet needs during a difficult time.
