In 2014, the renowned Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine opened a new world of opportunities for medical students at its Orange County Campus.

Many of the region's bedroom communities are home to professionals who access the five boroughs of New York City every day via the Metropolitan Transit Authority (NYC MTA) which administers the Metro-North Railroad’s Port Jervis Line, the only Western Hudson rail transportation in Orange County. The NYC MTA also administers the Metro-North Railroad’s Hudson Line which runs right down the Eastern Hudson River Shore line stopping in Beacon NY – directly across from Newburgh.
