(Middletown, NY) -Orange Regional Medical Center will host a free seminar “Weight Loss Surgery” on Thursday, December 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Community Health Education Center located at 110 Crystal Run Road in Middletown. Dr. Wayne Weiss, medical director of Orange Regional’s Bariatric (weight loss) surgery program, will discuss obesity treatment options including non-surgical approaches and gastric bypass and Lap-Band surgery. In addition, Orange Regional’s Bariatric Surgical Services Coordinator, Janet Kovler, M.S., R.D., C.D.N., C.D.E. will be on hand to answer questions about weight loss surgery options. Ms. Kovler is a Certified Diabetes Educator, a Registered Certified Dietitian and an American Heart Association Certified Cardiovascular Counselor. She brings over twenty years of clinical, educational and leadership experience to Orange Regional’s Bariatric Surgery Program. Dr. Weiss is a board-certified surgeon affiliated with Tri-State Bariatrics in Middletown, New York. He specializes in minimally-invasive bariatric surgery. Dr. Weiss received his medical degree from New York University and completed a surgical residency at New York University Medical Center. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons.
