Middletown, NY – Orange Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Nathaniel Margolis, M.D. to the position of medical director of the Ray W. Moody, M.D. Breast Center.
“Dr. Margolis brings tremendous experience and innovative thinking to our center’s daily operations,” said Sandra Iberger, vice president, operations, for the Greater Hudson Valley Health System. “His combination of trend-setting, breast disease clinical knowledge and humane, compassionate care makes him the perfect leader for our nationally-recognized breast care program.”
Dr. Margolis’ extensive experience includes serving as a breast imaging Fellow and Chief Resident of New York University (NYU) School of Medicine’s Department of Diagnostic Radiology. He spent many years conducting breast cancer research at NYU as well.
Dr. Margolis received his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine and received his Bachelor’s degree in biomedical science, as part of the school’s accelerated Bachelor’s degree/medical degree program, from the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at the City College of New York. He attended the international exchange program at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City.
He is the recipient of numerous medical honors and awards and co-authored and/or co-presented almost 30 medical research topics to a wide variety of professional and community organizations. Additionally, Dr. Margolis is co-author of a chapter focusing on quality and patient safety in the forthcoming book, “Quality and Patient Safety in Imaging.”
