“Nickel & Dime Project” Supports New Hospital

April 19, 2010

(Middletown, NY) – Members of the Middletown High School Freshmen Academy raised $900.00 for the Orange Regional Medical Center Capital Campaign. The “Nickel & Dime Project” armed three freshman classes with collection cans and a challenge to garner donations. The class in possession of the greatest amount of change received a pizza party courtesy of Casa Mia Restaurant.

The Freshman Academy, created at Middletown High School to integrate freshman students into the high school environment, provided an excellent launching pad for the “Nickel & Dime Project”. Freshman Academy Board Member Paul B. Halpern said, “Students learned that even in small ways, everyone can do their part to help our community thrive.” Mr. Halpern, who also serves as Community Chairman for the Orange Regional Medical Center Capital Campaign, was pleased at the student’s commitment to the project and to their community.

To date, the Orange Regional Medical Center Capital Campaign has raised $19,000,000. If your group or organization would like to become a member of the “Nickel & Dime Project” call the Orange Regional Medical Center Foundation at 845-294-2135 or email Campaign Director, Kathi Webber at kwebber@ormc.org.
