Orange Regional Announces New Board Executive Committee

(Middletown, NY) – Orange Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce new Executive Committee members for the Board of Directors.

Lou Heimbach has been named Chairman of the Orange Regional Medical Center’s Board of Directors. Mr. Heimbach has been a member of the hospital Board since January 1992 and is presently Chairman, President & CEO of Sterling Forest LLC in Tuxedo, New York. He is a former County Executive of Orange County, a position he maintained for 12 years, and also served three terms as Supervisor of the Town of Wallkill. He received his BS and MBA from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.

Bill Bassett, Ed.D., assumed the position of Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors. In 1986, Dr. Bassett moved to Orange County where he became Superintendent of the Pine Bush School District. In 1994, he held the position of District Superintendent and Chief Executive Officer of Orange/Ulster BOCES. After his retirement from BOCES, Dr. Bassett became a fulltime Assistant Professor of Education at Mount Saint Mary College, in Newburgh. He continues his work at Mount Saint Mary College as an adjunct professor.

Woody Levitan, CPA, CSPM, accepted the role of Treasurer of the Board of Directors. As the founding and managing partner of Levitan, Yegidis & Associates, LLP, a certified public accounting and business advisory firm serving the Hudson Valley, Mr. Levitan also serves as the partner-in-charge of the firm’s development/consulting and legal serviced divisions. He is a Certified Public Accountant and is also Certified in Strategic Performance Management.

Patricia Claiborne was named Secretary of the Board of Directors. During her 33 years with Cornell Cooperative Extension, Ms. Claiborne has managed all aspects of operations, providing leadership and opportunities for the youth and families of Orange County. She began as a Cooperative Extension Agent responsible for providing leadership for the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program. She then became a Home Economics Program leader and educator with major focus in Financial Management and Housing Programs. Prior to her position as Home Economics Program Leader, she served as a research assistant in Human Services Studies and Extension Associate for the Division of Nutritional Science, Cornell University.

These new appointments run through April 2012.
