Orange Regional Hosts Diabetes Seminar

Middletown, New York – Orange Regional Medical Center will host a Back to Basics Diabetes Seminar on Saturday, November 7, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at The Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame, 240 Main Street, Goshen.

Topics will include “Diabetes… What You Need To Know” with Dr. Elliott Friedman, board-certified endocrinologist and medical director of The Stanley S. Dunkelman, M.D. Diabetes Treatment Center; “Give it a Tri?” with Brian Foster, MSE, ACSM-HFS, certified health fitness specialist; and “Let’s Make a Meal” with Shelly DeHaan, R.D., C.D.E, and Kristine Bihun, R.D., C.D.E., BC-ADM.

According to the American Diabetes Association, there are over 18 million people in the United State who have diabetes. While an estimated 13 million have been diagnosed with diabetes, 5.2 million people are unaware that they have the disease.
