(Middletown, NY) Orange Regional Medical Center will host “Diabetes…What’s New 4 You” seminar on Saturday, November 6, 2010 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Orange Ulster BOCES, 53 Gibson Road, Emanuel Axelrod Education Center Building, Goshen. According to the American Diabetes Association, there are over 18 million people in the United State who have diabetes. While an estimated 13 million have been diagnosed with diabetes, 5.2 million people are unaware that they have the disease.
Topics will include “The Basics and What’s New” with Dr. Elliott Friedman, Board- certified endocrinologist and medical director of The Stanley S. Dunkelman, M.D. Diabetes Treatment Center; “The Mouth Body Connection: Diabetes and Dentistry” with Thomas Littner, D.D.S., general dentist and attending physician at Orange Regional Medical Center and “Diabetes and Sleep” with Dr. Alan Schaffer, medical director of the Center for Sleep Medicine at Orange Regional Medical Center and Board-certified in sleep medicine, internal medicine, pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine.
