Middletown, NY — Orange Regional Medical Center will host a free seminar entitled “Hearing Care” on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at the Community Health Education Center, 110 Crystal Run Road, Middletown.
The seminar, led by Ofer Jacobowitz, M.D. of Hudson Valley Ear, Nose and Throat, PC and featuring guest speaker Deborah Lynn, Ph.D. of Arden Hill Speech and Hearing, will focus on the importance of good hearing and hearing loss treatment options available at Orange Regional Medical Center. Additionally, information provided will cover hearing and understanding speech, state-of-the-art hearing technology, types of hearing loss and communication strategies. A question and answer period will follow the presentations.
According to the National Center for Health Statistics, 36 million (17%) of American adults have some degree of hearing loss. Orange Regional Medical Center’s physicians are raising public awareness about the need for prevention and the importance of regular hearing screenings.
