Orange Regional Medical Center Announces Medical Director of Stroke Center

Orange Regional Medical Center is proud to announce Carmen Martinez, M.D. as medical director of its Designated Stroke Center.

Dr. Martinez will lead an expert stroke team made up of highly trained physicians, nurses and technicians that can treat stroke quickly and effectively, using the latest medicines and techniques to minimize brain damage. Having quick access to these services within the first three hours of showing symptoms of a stroke is essential to preventing long-term neurological damage.

Dr. Martinez received her medical degree from Universidad Libre de Colombia Seccional Atlantico in Columbia. She completed her residency in neurology at New York Medical College – Westchester Medical Center and was fellowship-trained in cerebrovascular diseases at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, N.Y. She has been a member of Orange Regional’s department of neurology since 2004.

Dr. Martinez in board-eligible in neurology and is a member of the American Academy of Neurology. She is affiliated with Crystal Run Healthcare.
