Middletown, NY – The Orange Regional Medical Center Foundation, in partnership with the Orange County Office for the Aging, will host a free Caregiver Conference on Monday, September 29, 2014 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Orange Regional Medical Center, Conference Center, 707 East Main Street, Middletown. This conference will provide information on how to balance personal needs with the demands of caring for others. Gain practical information, advice and support and learn how to take the stress out of day-to-day life. A panel of experts will provide information on how to balance family, work and caregiving, as well as ways to overcome stress and depression. Information from various financial and community resources will also be available.
According to the National Family Caregivers Association, 29% of the U.S. population provides care for a chronically ill, disabled or aged family member or friend during a given year. Most caregivers spend an average of 20 hours per week providing care for their loved one.
