Orange Regional Medical Center Hosts “Oncology on Canvas” Art Exhibition

Middletown, NY- Lilly Oncology on Canvas, an art exhibition honoring the journeys people face when confronted by a cancer diagnosis, will be on display at the main campus of Orange Regional Medical Center, 707 East Main Street, Middletown from March 28 – April 12. A reception will be held on the ground floor of Orange Regional on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 beginning at 5:00 p.m.

The Spagnoli Family Cancer Center at Orange Regional is proud to present this free public exhibit, which is touring communities nationwide. It will showcase select pieces of art from the 2010 Lilly Oncology on Canvas competition. Themes explored in this inspiring collection range from fear and hope, to loss and survival, to isolation and the embrace of family and friends.

“Orange Regional Medical Center is proud to present this moving and inspirational art exhibit,” says Orange Regional’s Administrator, Oncology Services, Regina Toomey-Bueno. “The artwork signifies hope and healing and offers an opportunity to reflect on individual cancer journeys.”

Launched in 2004, the Lilly Oncology on Canvas art competition and exhibition invites people diagnosed with any type of cancer, their families and friends and healthcare providers, to express through art and narrative, the life-affirming changes that give their cancer journeys meaning.
