Orange Regional Medical Center Introduces New Mom Support Group

November 27, 2012

Middletown, NY- Orange Regional Medical Center is now offering a free, weekly new mom support group starting January 9, 2013. The group will meet weekly from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Wednesdays at Orange Regional Medical Center, Conference Room 1 located on the ground floor through Conference Center Entrance at 707 East Main Street, in Middletown.

We welcome new moms and their babies, no siblings please, (ages 0 to 9 months) to share experiences, discuss questions with other new moms, exchange ideas and challenges, gain knowledge and learn skills regarding newborn care and parenting. Dads, grandparents and caregivers are welcome.

Facilitated by Deborah Vermilyea, Nurse Lactation Specialist and staff members of the Rowley Family Birthing Center, the group will be conducted in the safe, secure environment of the hospital.

“Being a new mom is an exciting time that often brings new experiences and challenges,” says group facilitator Deborah Vermilyea. “We hope our support group will provide new moms with a place and a forum to share and discuss these moments.”

To protect the health of other attendees, we ask if you or your baby is showing symptoms of being sick, that you do not attend until symptoms are no longer evident. For more information on the support group, please call 1-888-321-ORMC.
