Middletown, NY- Orange Regional Medical Center will offer free mammograms on Saturday, December 3, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Ray W. Moody, M.D. Breast Center located at the Orange Regional Medical Pavilion, 75 Crystal Run Road in Middletown. Appointments are limited and must be made by Wednesday, November 30. Pre-registration is required.
Women, age 40 and over, should have a screening mammogram every year, according to the American Cancer Society. Early detection is vital in the successful treatment of breast cancer.
“Given that we know early detection is a key component to more favorable outcomes for women diagnosed with breast cancer, we’re proud to offer this service to those in our community,” says Ray W. Moody, M.D. Breast Center Manager, Penny Lynch.
Appointments include a clinical breast exam and mammography. Additionally, breast health education and training will be provided. The event is open to women without health insurance. Participants must be over 40 years of age and have not had a mammogram within the past year. Participants under the age of 40 who are deemed high risk will also be accepted. Participating physicians include Howard M. Karpoff, M.D., F.A.C.S. and Gnanamba Varuni Kondagunta, M.D.
