Orange Regional Medical Center Offers Free Oral, Head & Neck Cancer Support Group

(Middletown, NY) – Orange Regional Medical Center offers a free Oral, Head & Neck Cancer Support Group to the community to provide support before, during or after treatment. The Oral, Head & Neck Cancer Support Group meets in Conference Room 7 located on the ground floor at Orange Regional Medical Center, 707 East Main Street, in Middletown, on the first Wednesday of each month from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Registration is not required.

Orange Regional Medical Center’s Support for People with Oral, Head & Neck Cancer (SPOHNC) Support Group brings people together who have been diagnosed with this disease. The support group setting provides education, resources and a confidential forum for patients, their families and friends and survivors, to share experiences, concerns and fears as they battle oral, head and neck cancer together.

The support group is led by Orange Regional Medical Center’s Head & Neck Cancer Nurse Navigator, Sara Sargente, RN, OCN, and Co-facilitators, Mauri Waldman, LCSWR, BCD, CASAC and Orange Regional Medical Center’s Chief Activity Therapist, Jeanette Carbone-Marsh.

Ms. Sargente has worked in Oncology at Orange Regional since 2005, first in Infusion Therapy and then on the Oncology inpatient unit. Most recently, Ms. Sargente worked in Radiation Oncology. She is a tireless advocate for her patients and has received several grateful patient recognitions.
