Orange Regional Medical Center to Host Free Prematurity Awareness Event

Clinical Experts appearing at the Galleria on Saturday, November 14

Middletown, NY – Orange Regional Medical Center’s Rowley Family Birthing Center will host a free prematurity awareness event on Saturday, November 14. The event will take place at the Galleria at Crystal Run in Middletown, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and is being held in recognition of World Prematurity Day on November 17. Clinical experts will provide education and free promotional items for all who stop by. Orange Regional Medical Group will be in attendance as well as representatives from the Rowley Family Birthing Center including members of their Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Orange Regional’s Pediatric Unit and Children’s Emergency Department.

According to the March of Dimes, about 380,000 babies are born prematurely each year in the United States. Clinical experts from the Hospital will provide information about preventing premature births as well as breastfeeding benefits to mother and baby and child safety tips. The event will also feature face painting, a teddy bear clinic and Fox Radio 103.1 FM will be on hand, broadcasting live with prizes and more. Additionally, the March of Dimes will be in attendance helping to promote prevention of premature births.
