Orange Regional Medical Center’s Inpatient Rehabilitation Services Awarded

August 11, 2011

Middletown, NY – Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities(CARF) International announced that Orange Regional Medical Center’s Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation. This is the eighth accreditation that the international accrediting body has awarded to Orange Regional. CARF also reported that ‘Exemplary Conformance’ was achieved in two main areas: the Rehabilitation Unit Volunteer Program and the number of Certified Rehabilitation Nurses.

“We are extremely proud of this achievement,” said Vice President of Business Development Jerry Dunlavey. “Earning the CARF three-year accreditation is a true testament to the degree of care that the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit’s staff provides their patients each and every day.”

This accreditation represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows the organization’s substantial conformance to CARF standards. An organization receiving a three-year accreditation has gone through a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit that its programs and services are of the highest quality, measurable and accountable. CARF is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing quality of life for patients.
