Middletown, NY- Orange Regional Medical Center was recently recognized by The Advisory Board Company for aligning its shared governance council’s initiatives with the organization’s strategic goals.
The Advisory Board Company is a global research, technology and consulting firm that partner with numerous health care organizations in an effort to improve performance by providing strategic guidance, insights, web-based software solutions as well as comprehensive implementation and management services.
Orange Regional developed its Nursing Congress, comprised of various Nursing Councils, Nursing Committees and a Nursing Senate, in October 2011 with a goal to ensure that optimal patient care is provided. The formation of the Nursing Congress has allowed Orange Regional to implement the Advisory Board’s Nursing Executive Center tools including empathy building simulation scenarios, a guide for hourly rounding, building peer accountability and a patient experience toolkit.
“The recognition Orange Regional received from The Advisory Board Company, a healthcare industry leader, is a tremendous honor as it is a true testament the advancement of professional nursing practice,” says Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer, Joanne Ritter-Teitel.
Members of the Nursing Congress meet on a monthly basis on what’s been deemed ‘Nursing Congress Day’ to review hospital-wide initiatives, as well as performance, education of staff and staff recognition.
