Orange Regional Medical Center’s Organ Donors Save Thirteen Lives

December 24, 2012

Middletown, NY- Orange Regional Medical Center is proud to announce that thanks to the amazing generosity of four organ donors, thirteen families have cause to rejoice this holiday season – their family members have been given the greatest gift of all; the gift of life.

Throughout 2012, the Hospital had four organ donors from whom eight kidneys, one pancreas, three livers and two hearts were recovered. The recipients of the organs ranged in age from 17 to 70 years old.

“It has been so gratifying to see how supportive the Orange Regional physicians and nurses are when a family chooses donation. The hospital staff has exhibited a truly collaborative spirit when it comes to creating a beautiful legacy and saving the lives of those in need of a transplant,” says Jennifer Dillon, Hospital Services Specialist with the New York Organ Donor Network.

Orange Regional is a strong supporter of New York Organ Donor Network (NYODN), an organization dedicated to the recovery of organs and tissues for people in need of life-saving and life-improving transplants.
