Middletown, NY – Orange Regional Medical Group is pleased to announce that Patricia Barschow-Marton, MSN, MPH, NP-C, OCN has joined Orange Regional Medical Group as Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner. Ms. Barschow-Marton joins Dr. Emma Fattakhov, Medical Director and Eileen Schmidt, Palliative Care Navigator in providing palliative care services to our patients and support to their families. Palliative care is an important and growing service at Orange Regional, resulting in the need to add an additional practitioner to the service.
Most recently, Ms. Barschow-Marton practiced as an Oncology Nurse Practitioner at Mount Sinai for nearly 20 years. In this role, she oversaw all aspects of oncology care for her patients including chemotherapy and biotherapy. She performed extensive patient and family education as well as mentoring new staff members and nurse interns. Ms. Barschow-Marton helped patients and their families deal with the challenges of cancer and has received multiple awards for excellent patient care. She is eager to apply her considerable skills to care for our palliative care population.
Prior to her work as a Nurse Practitioner, Ms. Barschow-Marton worked in Interventional Radiology, in the Emergency Room as a Staff Nurse at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital and as an Infusion Nurse at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She was also a Public Health Nurse at the Orange County Department of Public Health and taught as Adjunct Faculty in the Associate Degree Nursing Program at SUNY Orange. Ms. Barschow-Marton holds a Master of Nursing from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from SUNY Plattsburgh.
