October 19, 2009

Middletown, New York – Orange Regional Medical Center has partnered with Westchester Medical Center to offer perinatal services to expectant mothers with a high-risk health condition or obstetric complication at its Horton Campus, located in Middletown. The program allows patients to be seen by a board-certified perinatologist in coordination with a patient’s personal obstetrician.

The Perinatal Program proudly welcomes James F. Smith, Jr., M.D., a perinatologist who is specially trained to perform complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures during pregnancy. Dr. Smith is Section Chief of Perinatology at Westchester Medical Center and is a graduate of St. Louis University School of Medicine in Missouri. He completed his internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Virginia and a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of New Mexico. Before joining Westchester Medical Center, he was a clinical associate professor, Maternal and Fetal Medicine, at Stanford University School of Medicine in California.

If your obstetrician feels that you are in need of perinatal services, an appointment can be made by calling 1-866-ORMC-TEST (1-866-676-2837).
