Middletown, NY – Orange Regional Medical Center congratulates James Oxley, D.O., Vice President of Medical Affairs, on his appointment to the Orange County Department of Health’s Advisory Board. During his term, which ends in 2015, Dr. Oxley joins eight other community members involved in the field of public health. Health Advisory Board members meet with Commissioner of Health, Jean Hudson, M.D., M.P.H., on a quarterly basis to discuss public health in Orange County. Dr. Oxley will act as a community representative, sharing the thoughts and concerns of County residents and healthcare professionals.
“It’s my pleasure to welcome Dr. Oxley to the County’s Department of Health Advisory Board,” said Dr. Hudson. “His practical experience and first-hand understanding of community health needs will serve the Advisory Board well.”
Members of the Department of Health Advisory Board are nominated by the County Executive and confirmed by the County Legislature. They serve terms of five years and offer input to the County Commissioner of Health regarding important community health needs.
“When you work your entire adult career in an emergency department, you see everything at least once!” said Dr. Oxley. “I look forward to joining my colleagues and using my experience to make Orange County a healthier place for us all.”
