Middletown, NY- Christine Maraia, President of Orange Regional Medical Center Foundation, has announced the appointment of Middletown resident Paul Halpern as Chairman. As the fundraising arm of Orange Regional Medical Center, the Foundation’s mission is to raise funds and awareness through philanthropic support from the community for the benefit of patients.
“Orange Regional Medical Center has always been a very important part of the community,” Halpern says. “I am grateful for the opportunity to serve in this capacity.”
In the 1970s, Mr. Halpern established a presence in the residential development industry when he introduced manufactured housing to the region. After selling the business in 2001, he decided to focus on consulting and community service.
Mr. Halpern was appointed to the Orange Regional Foundation Board in 2004 as a trustee and has served most recently as chair of the community phase of Orange Regional’s $21 million Building for Excellence Capital Campaign.
In 2008, he was appointed as a member to the Orange Regional Medical Center’s Board of Directors. Over the past three years, he has served on the Hospital Finance, Audit and Compliance and Performance Improvement committees. He also serves as chair of the New Hospital Committee.
In addition to his involvement with Orange Regional, Mr. Halpern is also active in Middletown’s education system, serving as chair of the Advisory Board of Middletown High School’s career academies. He recently completed a term as president of the Middletown Rotary Club.
