Teddy Bear Donation Brings Cheer to Children at Orange Regional Medical Center

December 22, 2011

Middletown, NY- Recently, Orange Regional Medical Center welcomed the arrival of teddy bears delivered by The Teddies Love Children Appeal Program (TLC). The donation was presented by The TLC Appeal Chairperson, Colin Oakenfull to Orange Regional’s Director of Volunteer Services, Debbie Linken, along with nursing leadership from the Pediatric and Emergency Departments. The TLC Appeal Program originated in England with the objective to present teddy bears to hospitalized children in an effort to alleviate anxiety and put them at ease.
The TLC Appeal Program operates in Orange and Rockland Counties and is administered by the local chapter of the Freemasons of New York State, the Orange-Rockland District Masonic Association.

“We are thrilled to be part of this program and the recipient of these teddy bears. It’s a wonderful way to provide a welcome distraction from the stress and fear that children feel while in the hospital,” says Linken.
