The entire sixth floor of Orange Regional’s newly constructed, state-of-the-art facility is dedicated to our new Rowley Family Birthing Center, where moms deliver in a nurturing, safe and comfortable environment while having the privacy they need during this special time.

Accommodations: Comfort, Privacy, and Safety
The Rowley Family Birthing Center is located on the entire sixth floor of our newly constructed, state-of-the-art Medical Center and is devoted exclusively to your growing damily. Moms-to-be can rest easy during their labor and delivery in this expertly cultivated nurturing, safe and comfortable environment. For laboring moms, the unit also has a Jacuzzi tub - to enhance relaxation during the early stages of birth.
To ensure the needs of mother and baby are met in complete comfort and privacy, the birthing center includes a high-tech security system, 12 private labor/delivery and recovery rooms, 23 private post-partum rooms, private triage rooms and 2 operating rooms for caesarean delivery.
Each room has a bathroom with a:
- Soothing shower
- 300-thread count linens
- Scenics views
- An individual thermostat
- A sleeper sofa for your birthing partner
Carpeted hallways help create a quiet and more peaceful environment for rest and recovery. Room services and a patient and family pantry stocked with tasty treats are also available.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I Tour The Birthing Center Before Labor?
Your family is invited to tour our Rowley Family Birthing Center with one of our unit's registered nurses. You will visit the traige area, a labor/delivery and recovery room and a post-partum room (if available) as well as our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Tours are conducted twice a month:
Thursday (6:00 PM - 7:30 PM)
Saturday (9:30 AM - 11:00 AM)
Is There Someone To Help Me Breastfeed?
We also offer inpatient and outpatient breast feeding support services conducted by an International Board-certified Lactation Consultant. Orange Regional nurses also have additional training to provide lactation support. Our program is designed to help you achieve your breast feeding goals. We also offer prenatal breast feeding classes and rent hospital-grade electric breast pumps.
When Can My Family Visit?
Partners are welcome any time, and siblings of all ages may visit. Extended family and friends (ages 13 and older) may visit from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. daily.
Maximum of two visitors per bedside at any time and must be accompanied by a parent with baby band. All visitors will be asked to leave the unit during nursing report 6:45 to 7:15 am and pm. Visitation is at the discretion of the staff to ensure the best care for your infant. We ask that all visitors wash their hands and forearms with antibacterial soap prior the entering the unit. (Hand washing is the #1 way to reduce infection). If you have a cold or any other infectious illness, please inform the staff and we will determine how to proceed.
Complementary & Support Services For Mom & Baby
Our 10-bed, Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is located within the Rowley Family Birthing Center, so parents can feel confident knowing an experienced and skilled team of NICU specialists are on hand to are for your family's precious new addition.

Orange Regional Medical Center is proud to partner with Bella Baby Photography to offer parents the opportunity to capture their baby’s first photographs in a professional, artistic style that can easily be shared with family and friends. Bella Baby brings professional photographers to the hospital to capture your first moments with your baby.
