David M. Grippe

“My father, Leo Grippe, was in ORMC Arden Hill Campus from 6/17/2010 thru 6/28/2010. He suffered a disabling 6 strokes. There were two very outstanding employees I wish to extend my deepest appreciation to. They are Mary Petak RN and Pedro Oyola environmental services. Many nurses crossed paths with my father in his stay, but Mary went above and beyond her services with all her patients. She showed genuine concern for them. She did not just think of it as a job, but showed compassion. She is a very hard worker and made his stay that much more comfortable. Pedro although only in environmental services was a bright part of every day. He was better therapy for my father then those labeled therapists. He would be cleaning the room and always catch our conversation and quickly turn it into stand up comedy. This was great as dad has lost his ability to speak, but he sure did laugh. And they say laughter is the best medicine, and there not kidding. My father looked forward to his visit daily. Please in your move to one facility next year, make sure these two wonderful people keep there jobs. If not for them my father’s outcome would not have been so great. May God Bless them both. Please make sure that both Mary and Pedro receive a copy of this letter.
