Community Service Plan & Health Needs Assessment
Each year, Orange Regional Medical Center prepares a Community Service Plan, a Community Health Needs Assessment and Community Health Improvement Plan, as required by the New York State Department of Health. The plans describe the hospital’s mission and vision, as well as specific measures it is taking to improve the health and well-being of the community.
Such as in past years, we have developed a 2016-2018 implementation strategy to illustrate the hospital’s specific programs and resources that support ongoing efforts to address the identified community health priorities. This work complements objectives of the local health department and is supported by community-wide efforts and hospital leadership. For 2016 – 2018, our focus will be on the following priority areas:
- Prevent Chronic Disease & Reduce Obesity
- Promote Healthy Women, Infants & Children/Reduce Teenage Pregnancy

About Our Community Health Program
The findings from our comprehensive Community Health Needs Assessment is translated into actionable commitments to the health of our residents through our Community Health Program, led by our Community Health Director, Amanda Langseder.
The goal of this program is to collaborate with organizations, schools, public agencies and businesses to educate the public, shift policy, and create a culture of health for the communities we serve. Through this we are able to provide health resources and education to our community in an effort to improve the health of families and support wellness proactively through promotion of healthy lifestyles; research; free classes, seminars, support groups and screenings; training and disease prevention. We also participate in and sponsor numerous community events including but not limited to health fairs, walks/runs, conferences and other health related efforts.
