We currently host six residency training programs including Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, General Surgery and Psychiatry, as well as a Traditional Rotating Internship program. We are also the primary clinical site for Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine (TouroCOM) medical students to rotate through six core third and fourth year clerkships. Going forward, we will add a Rural Medicine and Addiction Medicine Fellowship to address these profound regional and national needs. With TouroCOM so close, our local communities are invigorated by a sense of medical academia which is transforming our communities and will have profound impact on the quality in our area of the Hudson Valley.

Orange Regional Medical Group (ORMG) is a large hospital-affiliated multispecialty group that has been an integral part of our mission and dedication to medical education. It is part of our mission to become a nationally-recognized academic center, requiring active research in all of our programs. We have a very active institutional review board and work closely with TouroCOM and the Department of Health. This year we have produced over 50 abstracts as well as hosting a regionally respected medical education poster competition. We hired a world-renowned research director to help us maximize scholarly activity and support and advise on manuscripts, grants and teach research design. Our students, residents and attendings have presented their work and received awards at regional poster competitions, multiple national conventions and published numerous papers. Our trajectory is to become the best academic center between New York City and Albany and we are well on our way.
Our 383-bed facility is less than 10 years old and is the first new hospital built in New York State in a quarter century. It is wireless, spectacular and a template for all high-tech hospitals to be modeled going forward. We have won numerous national awards for clinical excellence, patient satisfaction and information technology, and were named Most Beautiful Hospital in America for 2017. Our rapid growth and continued expansion of physical space, clinical services and academic endeavors will mark us as the best, most innovative academic medical center in the region.
Orange Regional boasts 50 emergency rooms bays including trauma bays and a heated helipad plus a six-bed Pediatric Emergency Room, and 12 advanced operating rooms equipped with full operating room table videography for observation and teaching. As a level 2 trauma center, we have top trained intensivists and traumatologists and a variety of specialty centers including an Invasive Cardiology STEMI Center, Bone and Joint/Neuroscience and Stroke Center, Breast Center, Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit, Diabetes Treatment and Education Center and expanded Critical Care Services including NICU, PEDS Emergency Services, Med/Surg Intensive, step down units and much more.
Two newly-constructed buildings on campus are home to a world-class cancer center with leading-edge technology including two linear accelerators, State of the Art MRI, PET, U/S, CT, digital x-ray and the most extensive interventional radiology center in the region.
Add to all this therapeutic healing gardens, a music program which includes daily entertainment in our main lobby and an extensive outdoor fitness trail with exercise equipment and yoga pad and clearly you have the perfect environment to train hard, balance priorities and become the best physician possible.
I hope you will carefully explore all of your options for residency training and consider joining us on our exciting path to be among the best academic training centers in the nation.
